Em seu melhor momento no Palmeiras, Guerra diz que se sente mais à vontade no esquema de Cuca do que no de Eduardo Baptista. De acordo com o venezuelano, o atual treinador lhe dá liberdade para criar, parecido com o que fez Reinaldo Rueda com ele entre 2015 e 2016, no Atlético Nacional (COL).

-Cuca e Eduardo (Baptista) utilizam esquemas muito diferentes. O Eduardo me utilizava como meia direita. Era uma posição que jogava no Atlético Nacional com o professor (Juan Carlos) Osorio (ex-técnico do São Paulo), mas me sentia limitado, sem liberdade. Eu me sinto melhor jogando solto, como 10, e o professor Cuca utiliza esse esquema. No ano passado joguei assim no Atlético Nacional e me dei muito bem. Cuca conversa muito comigo, me dá toda a confiança. Como disse agora, me sinto com bastante confiança e bastante seguro no que estou fazendo – comentou o jogador, eleito pela torcida nos últimos três jogos como o melhor do time.

A boa fase rendeu brincadeiras de palmeirenses nas redes sociais. Uma torcedora fez uma montagem do meia no Allianz Parque jogando de terno. Ele chegou a publicar a imagem em sua página no Instagram e divertiu-se com a repercussão.

-Essa imagem eu vi e ri muito, porque parece real (o próprio chutando uma bola de terno). Agradeço às pessoas que fizeram isso, porque demonstram que estão gostando do meu trabalho. Com 23 jogos pelo Palmeiras, Guerra tem seis gols e três assistências. Ele deve ser titular nesta quarta-feira, contra o Cruzeiro, pela Copa do Brasil, mas já é desfalque certo contra o Grêmio, sábado, pelo Brasileiro, pois terá de cumprir suspensão automática. Será a chance de o elenco provar que não depende do venezuelano.

-Eu penso que futebol são 11 jogadores, os que estão no banco e os que estão lesionados. São 30 jogadores e precisamos de todos para ser um time de primeiro nível, não podemos depender de um só. Se for um só, tem que ir jogar tênis. Futebol é um esporte em conjunto e precisamos de todos – encerrou.

He struck with the second ball of the innings when Rhett Lockyear was caught in the slips for 2 and followed with Travis Birt lbw and Michael Dighton caught behind.Shane Harwood and Jon Holland chipped in with a breakthrough each as the day threatened to become a disastrous one for Tasmania, who had allowed Victoria’s lower order to add 146 before lunch. The in-form Rob Quiney made his maiden first-class century earlier this season and he looked set to add a second until he top-edged an attempted hook on 88.The Tigers also had big trouble trying to remove their team-mate from last summer, Damien Wright, who was fresh from a club cricket century and finished with 84. Após a sétima rodada do Brasileirão, o técnico Fábio Carille disse que o então aproveitamento do Corinthians de 90,5% no campeonato era “anormal”. Nesta quinta-feira, o Timão deu mais uma mostra de que continua fora do comum: vitória por 3 a 0 sobre o Bahia, na Arena, em Itaquera, pela nona rodada. O aproveitamento agora é de ainda impressionantes 85,2%.

Com o resultado positivo, o Corinthians chegou a 23 pontos e continua na liderança do Brasileirão. O Bahia, por sua vez, estacionou nos dez e caiu para o 14º lugar na tabela.

A sétima vitória no campeonato foi do jeito que o Timão está acostumado. Após abrir o placar com Jô, aos 24 minutos do primeiro tempo, o Corinthians controlou o jogo como gosta: se fechou, não sofreu perigo e criou boas oportunidades em contra-ataques.

O Bahia bem que tentou buscar o empate e teve até mais posse de bola. Mas é difícil marcar contra o time fechado de Carille. Até agora no Brasileirão, por exemplo, o Corinthians foi vazado apenas cinco vezes.

Bem posicionado na defesa, como tem sido costume nesta temporada, o Corinthians praticamente não sofreu sustos. Por outro lado, cansava de levar perigo, mas desperdiçava as chances.

O cenário parecia que iria mudar a partir dos 11 minutos do segundo tempo, quando Gabriel foi expulso. No entanto, aos 15 foi a vez de Renê Júnior receber o cartão vermelho e deixar os dois times com dez jogadores. Ambos os lances foram bastante discutíveis.

O jogo caiu de intensidade depois das expulsões, mas o Timão mostrou uma outra arma além do contra-ataque: a bola parada. Após cobrança de escanteio e desvio de Romero, Balbuena apareceu para ampliar.

O segundo gol e a entrada de Kazim animaram o Corinthians. O atacante levou perigo em dois lances, mas quem marcou foi Marquinhos Gabriel: praticamente no último lance do jogo, o meia roubou a bola na entrada da área e encobriu o goleiro Jean para definir o placar.

Com o desempenho ainda “anormal”, o Corinthians chegou ao seu 22º jogo invicto e se mantém firme na liderança do Brasileirão. O desafio de domingo é contra o Grêmio, em Porto Alegre.

Crystal Palace’s new era under Patrick Vieira has got off to a slow but steady start, with the Eagles picking up a respectable two points from a possible nine in the opening weeks of the Premier League campaign.

But it’s not just going forwards where the robust 21-year-old has excelled. He was also won 17 duels, made four clearances, and pulled off five tackles from his central midfield position, highlighting his influence over Palace’s play.

Vieira will be hoping that Gallagher can pick up where he left off following the international break and fire Palace to their first victory under the Frenchman’s reign.

After enduring a difficult spell at St Mary’s, Southampton’s decision to sell Manolo Gabbiadini for £10.8m has turned into a great piece of business.

Southampton signed the Italian striker from Napoli in a deal worth £14m in 2017 and he would go on to make 60 appearances for the Saints, in which he contributed just 12 goals and no assists.

Other than his performance in the League Cup final, where he scored twice in a 3-2 defeat against Manchester United, the former Italy international endured an entirely forgettable spell at St Mary’s and he hasn’t exactly set the world alight since leaving either.

After just one goal in 12 Premier League appearances in the 2018/19 season, Southampton decided to cash in on Gabbiadini, with Sampdoria paying £10.8m to take him back to Serie A, where he has remained for the past two and a half years.

Despite an improved record which has seen him manage 39 goals and 12 assists in 122 appearances for I Blucerchiati, his market value has seriously decreased from his time at St Mary’s, with Transfermarkt valuing him at just £4.5m.

This emphasises just how well Southampton did to sell him for £10.8m, even if they did make a small loss on the £14m they paid for him, as if he had stayed at St Mary’s and continued to struggle, then we could well have seen a similar situation to someone like Guido Carrillo, who was eventually released by the Saints after several loan spells, despite them paying £19m to sign him from AS Monaco.

Therefore, sporting director at the time, Ross Wilsonm deserves credit for negotiating such a good deal for Gabbiadini after he struggled to perform in the Premier League, although considering his goal record has never been fantastic, you wonder why Southampton wanted to sign him in the first place.

O Internacional vai mesmo para o banco dos réus na Justiça Desportiva. O clube foi denunciado pelo uso de documento falsificado e será julgado na próxima terça-feira pelo STJD, a partir das 15h.

O caso foi designado para a 5ª Comissão Disciplinar. O Inter foi enquadrado no artigo 61 do Código da Fifa, que prevê até exclusão de competição pelo uso de documentos falsos. Além do clube, o presidente Vitorio Piffero também foi denunciado, com base nos artigos 234 e 258 do Código Brasileiro de Justiça Desportiva.

O auditor que vai relatar o caso na primeira instância é José Nascimento.

No inquérito que gerou a denúncia, havia o pedido de enquadramento dos advogados do Internacional, o que acabou não acontecendo. Até porque a OAB fez forte oposição à denúncia contra os defensores do clube.

Segundo a investigação, o clube, no processo em que tentava tirar pontos do Vitória pela escalação do zagueiro Victor Ramos, utilizou como prova uma reprodução de conversas por e-mail de dirigentes do Leão com funcionários da CBF, entre eles o diretor de registro e transferência, Reinaldo Buzzoni.

O inquérito traz ainda que o responsável pelas alterações nas conversas foi o empresário do jogador. O Inter, portanto, não foi o autor da falsificação, mas, como prevê a lei, foi denunciado por utilizar o documento adulterado.

Em entrevista recente ao LANCE!, o auditor Mauro Marcelo, responsável pelo inquérito, pontuou:

– Em um primeiro momento, fica claro que faltou cuidado ao Inter. No mais, caberá ao Tribunal avaliar a conduta.

Celtic goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas doesn’t want to return to Greece, according to journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos.

Barkas who cost the Hoops £4.5m last summer, made a costly mistake against FC Midtjylland in the first leg of Celtic’s Champions League qualifier and hasn’t featured since.

Celtic have signed Joe Hart this summer from Tottenham and were reportedly happy to let Barkas depart either on loan or in a permanent deal.

However, it seems as if the player doesn’t fancy leaving the club late in the window.

The Latest: Chorianopoulos post

Greek reporter Chorianopoulos was asked by @aboutceltic for an update over a possible exit regarding Barkas late on Monday evening.

He replied, admitting the goalkeeper’s agents have worked for an offer with PAOK interested. However, Barkas doesn’t want to return to Greece at this moment in time, according to Chorianopoulos.

“No sign at the moment that Barkas will leave Celtic. Even though his agents worked for an offer, at the moment nothing concrete. PAOK were interested, but Barkas doesn’t want to come back. Let’s see…”

The Verdict: One to move on?

With Hart arriving earlier in the window and establishing himself as first choice under Ange Postecoglou, it could make sense to move a goalkeeper on.

At the minute, Postecoglou has Barkas, Scott Bain and Conor Hazard all sitting around at Parkhead, so moving one out on loan or on a permanent could be the right idea.

However, that doesn’t look as if it will be Barkas at this moment in time.

Southampton fans want to sign Duje Caleta-Car after it was suggested they are interested in a move for the Marseille central defender.

The Saints kicked off their Premier League season with a 3-1 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park despite taking the lead through Adam Armstrong. That defeat came without Jannik Vestergaard, who recently made the move to Leicester City from St. Mary’s Stadium (lcfc.com) – as such, the Saints could do with a new central defender.

As per Hampshire Live, the Saints are looking at Caleta-Car to come in to replace the Denmark international. He was previously at Red Bull Salzburg, where he won the Austrian Bundesliga four times, while he was also a part of Croatia’s squad for the 2018 World Cup when they reached the final.

The news was shared on Twitter by @TheSaintCentre, and it attracted plenty of attention from the Saints supporters. They took took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.

O Flamengo segue se preparando para o clássico contra o Botafogo, no próximo domingo, marcado para o Estádio Raulino Oliveira, em Volta Redonda. A novidade desta quarta-feira foi a presença de o meia Éverton no trabalho de troca de passes e marcação pressão feito no campo 5.

O camisa 22 estava trabalhando de forma separada na parte inicial das atividades, mas depois se juntou ao restante do grupo e mostrou estar recuperado do pisão no pé direito. Ele está só aprimorando a forma física para o domingo.

Mais uma vez, Diego e Conca participaram de todas as atividades e estão à disposição de Zé Ricardo para enfrentarem o Botafogo. A presença da dupla vai depender da avaliação física dos atletas. Diego está em melhor forma em relação ao argentino.
